Rev. Rhonda M. Thomas

Rev. Rhonda Michelle Walker Thomas is the wife of Senior Pastor, Ranzer A. Thomas, Sr., and First Lady of New Generation Missionary Baptist Church.  Born in Miami, Florida, she is the first of four children, born to Dock C. Walker and the late Beverly Walker and has two beautiful children, Roquonda and Ranzer Jr.

 

A 1977 graduate of Miami Northwestern Senior High School, Rev. Rhonda received her license to preach the Gospel on April 20, 2000, and was ordained on June 19, 2006. She is an anointed teacher and preacher who has been blessed to touch lives throughout the State of Florida, Georgia and the Bahamas as a facilitator for many women's, youth and marriage conferences. Spiritually employed at New Generation Missionary Baptist Church, she holds the

position of Coordinator of Ministries, in addition to leading the Minister's Ministry, Ministers' Wives Ministry, Social Justice Ministry and Marriage Ministry, she also teaches Sunday School.  Beyond her spiritual service, Rev. Rhonda works with Service Employer International Union/SEIU FL and Faith in Florida as a Clergy and Community Organizer.

 

Rev. Rhonda is very active servant and community organizer who has the heart to transform the community.  She fought hard in the 2012 election to equip the community with the knowledge and understanding needed to successfully defeat Amendment 3, which would have based taxes on population growth and inflation.  She has lead community rallies in support of Stopping Gun Violence. Rev. Rhonda is a trailblazer with a heart for Social and Economic Justice, she was campaigned for better wages for the University of Miami Food Service Workers. She worked hard to ensure that Amendment 4 passed in the 2018 election, this victory resulted in the restoration of voting rights for 1.5 million returning citizens. 

 

Rev. Rhonda Thomas has been recognized and honored with many accolades, including the 100 Leading First Ladies of South Florida - ICABA; Leading Team Mother of Many - North Miami Beach Sundevils; The Broward County Business & Professional Women’s Network; Certificate of Leading Fellow Democracy Worker – PICO Florida; Certificate of Outstanding Leadership - New Generation Missionary Baptist Church; Proclamation of Rev. Rhonda Thomas Day – Miami Gardens - Mayor Shirley Gibson; and Proclamation of Rev. Rhonda Thomas Day – City of Opa Locka - Mayor Myra Taylor. Rev. Rhonda has served as the spokesperson in the City of Opa Locka and Miami Gardens communities.   She also served as Vice President of the Women’s Initiative Board in the Great City of Opa Locka.

 

Rev. Rhonda enjoys studying the Word of God, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and is known for her hilarious sense of humor.
